They\u2019re just like a regular doctor appointment,\u201d says Dr. Simhan. \u201cThey are about a half-hour long and include taking a complete medical history and doing a thorough review of the patient\u2019s concerns.\u201dBased on information collected during the visit, a specialist may recommend testing, ideally near a patient\u2019s home.
